WELCOME TO EMBOROUGH FARM

ABOUT

Emborough Farm is located on the edge of the Mendip Hills.

Our mix of animals gives us numerous opportunities ranging from cards and calendars produced by ourselves from our own photos, to raw & processed fleece for spinning and felting, DK knitting wool (alpaca / ryeland blend, natural colours), pedigree animals for sale, eggs and meat boxes.  We also show people around our animals quite often and if they are lucky they may even be able to stroke a highland bull.

OUR GREETING CARDS AND CALENDERS

A few years ago we started producing calendars and then after numerous requests, started our own range of greetings cards.  All the images are taken by us, on our farm, of our animals (and sometimes other interesting natural things) and then printed on the farm and cut  into cards and calendars - the range is often added to with 2 calendars per year.

MEET OUR ANIMALS

We have a mixture of animals from highland cows, sheep and alpacas to chicken, ducks and geese.  Our philosophy is that the animals and their welfare are very important and their needs come first.  We also understand that animals are very intelligent and make friends – to this end we try to acknowledge this and work with it when splitting the animals for lambing/calving etc.  We also try and work with them to do any work / treatment on/with them, but also be gentle, caring and tell them what is happening (this may sound daft, but it works).

OUR MEAT  BURGERS AND SAUSAGE ROLLS

We offer a range of meat products – mainly Hogget (lamb aged 12-24 months) and sometimes mutton.  As we have a small, but growing Highland cow herd we only have a limited supply of Highland beef currently, but this will change as the numbers of cows increases.  Our meat is only available from the farm and as we do not yet have a farm shop you will need to contact us to order and arrange collection.
